OFFICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE –– USER SURVEY 2003

The following information accompanies the February 2003 CRA Newsletter.

Introduction:

CRA repeated the survey done in 1993, and 1999 to assess progress every 5 years.  Today, 70% of the office management software market is controlled by 3 companies (5 brands). 149 brands were reported as being used currently compared to 208 in 1999 and 284 in 1993.

Percentages in columns B & K in the February 2003 Newsletter are based on respondents that Strongly Agreed or Agreed with the statement. Column L is based on respondents that Strongly Disagreed or Disagreed. Column E is based on respondents that are Very Satisfied or Satisfied. Column F is based on respondents that are Very Dissatisfied or Dissatisfied.

Question asked in February 2003 Newsletter "Would Re-buy" differs from the July 1999 Newsletter "Would Re-buy" in the following way:

  • 1998 question asked was: "I would repurchase my present software again" Yes or No.

  • 2002 question asked was: "I would purchase my software again" Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree.

The 2002 question did not force commitment to re-buy or not, but allowed the non-committed answer "Neutral" so all could answer question.
