Large Curing Tips vs. Small Curing Tips
Tip size is crucial to the intensity of a curing light. Intensity is the power divided by the area. Since area is proportional to the square of the the radius, a small change in radius makes a big change in intensity.
Example: 300 mW of power delivered through an 8 mm or 11 mm tip.
8 mm tip 11 mm tip radius = 4 mm radius = 5.5 mm area = 0.50 cm2 area = 0.95 cm2 intensity = 600 mw/cm2 intensity = 316 mw/cm2
In general, small tips have higher intensity than large tips on a given light.
